For Men
The Need
Children need fathers. Fathers need role models. Many men grew up without a father in the home and then feel lost and ill-equipped to parent effectively when they become dads themselves. They need confidence and skills to break the cycle of fatherlessness and become the dads their child needs.
The Solution
Our Men of Importance program offers proven curriculum that fathers and trained facilitators go through together. It teaches basic fathering skills such as how to be fair and loving; having fun; maintaining a healthy work/play balance; and developing character (both in the child and in the father). Exploring relationships and how to strengthen the bond between the father and the mother are also covered.
The Next Step
Hope of the Delta’s male volunteer advocates are trained and available to any men interested in participating in our Men of Importance program. Call or stop by to schedule your first meeting with one of our advocates and begin the process of becoming a great father!
Vision for the Men of Importance Program
To educate men on the role and importance of fathers in a child’s life; spiritually, emotionally and physically.
Goals
- To empower men to accept the responsibilities of father a child.
- To bring fathers and men back into the family.
To foster respect between mothers and fathers.
